Author – Quinn Askeland

The world is a book, and Quinn is determined to read every page. Inspired by Saint Augustine’s famous quote, he dedicated much of his adult life to exploring the globe and immersing himself in long-term stays across different countries.

Leaving his role as a recruitment consultant in the UK, Quinn moved back to Australia with the goal of passing his firsthand knowledge to the next generation of travellers. He founded Jobaroo after noticing how hard it was for backpackers to find reliable information and a truly useful jobs board.

Jobaroo offers mapped job locations and comprehensive guides on everything a working holiday maker needs—including visas, bank accounts, car buying, and crucial advice on money transfers, which Quinn learned can make a significant difference to a traveller’s budget.

Outside of helping others live their travel dreams, Quinn enjoys seeking out adventure in nature through mountain biking and trail running. He also loves tinkering, making and fixing things, and spending time with his family.
