Quinn has spent about three decades navigating the complexities of international relocation personally and professionally. After some formative years as a recruitment consultant in the UK, he lived in Canada for over 10 years and then moved back to his native Australia with a clear mission: to replace the guesswork of backpacking and moving countries with firsthand, reliable information and tools.

Along the journey he founded Workgateways (for the UK) and later Jobaroo to solve the frustrations he encountered himself by building a platform that provided mapped job locations and  practical guides on visas, banking, money transfers, and logistics.

Having relocated his own life across borders multiple times, Quinn has a unique, 360-degree view of the backpacker and expat journey. He knows that even having a great job in an awesome country can be overshadowed by the stress of frozen bank accounts or running into visa issues. Firsthand experience and a love for wanting to help others experience living in other countries has meant he has covered everything from local job markets to international money transfer services.

Ultimately, Quinn’s focus is always on trying to make things better in the real world. With the goal of cutting through the typical marketing B.S., he wants to ensure that the jobs and information on Jobaroo is helpful and grounded.

When he isn’t helping the next generation of travellers navigate their own adventures, Quinn is likely seeking his own in the outdoors – whether mountain biking, trail running, or fixing things in his garage. Above all, he enjoys spending time with his family and continuously trying to help others in the midst of their own adventures to Australia.
