This is an emergency primary care service offering surgery consultations and justified home visits to patients on behalf of subscribing general practitioners (GPs) on weekends, weeknights and public holidays. This service, which is highly regarded locally, is the only such service in the region and enjoys excellent relations with general practice. This service is the only such service in Australia which combines a central surgery focus with a triage facility.

The service presently normally enjoys a mixed workforce of 'core' doctors and part-timers, plus 15 nurses(up to 3 in the call centre at any one time) and about 9 administrative/clerical staff. It offers in-house radiographic and on-call pathology facilities through local specialist services. Hospital admissions may be arranged with any of the local private hospitals or the State Hospital and emergency access to local specialists is available at all times. They liaise closely with subscribing GPs in order to ensure the appropriate management and continuity of care for their patients.

It offers: flexible combination of clinic and telephone triage sessions, minimal home visiting and no more than one overnight shift weekly(triage), enjoyable small team environment based in modern premises.
