Job Description

Opportunity for an Emergency Career Medical Officer to join a rural hospital located in western NSW.
DUTIES
• Attend patients of all triage categories in the Emergency Department, including initiating appropriate emergency care when required, during rostered duty hours.
• Document patient care to the minimum medico legal standard with use of standardised abbreviations, as set out by GWAHS policy
• Complete appropriate assessment and baseline investigations with minimal support, consulting when necessary.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of care plans for ED patients
• Complete discharge documentation for ED patients and communicate appropriately with community doctors/health professionals
• Liaise appropriately with inpatient teams and attend the wards as required
• Review and document investigation results for all ED patients, including those already discharged from the department.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the NSW Medical Board
